Second Leg: Washington DC

For the second leg of our trip, we drove down to DC where some of our friends we met in Cinci live. Their son is 5 weeks older than Noah--it was fun watching the two toddlers interact for the couple days that we stayed with them. Most of the pictures are from Monday, when we walked EVERYWHERE. my feet fell off at the end of the day (gross huh?).

Natural history museum

Lunch--Misty and Asher came with us to the museum that morning, but unfortunately she had to get home for naptime and then work. Also, one of my favorite roommates from BYU, Tammy, met up with us. She currently lives in DC and is doing an internship through the Smithsonian. Yeah, we had connections!

Since it was such a nice day, we left the museum after lunch and walked to ALL of the memorials in DC--These places aren't just sitting right next to eachother. Do you understand why my feet fell off?!?

Our mischevious child preferred to be on the wrong side of the fences

WW2 memorial, although you can't tell from this picture

Noah, meet president Lincoln

This statue of Jefferson is in the building in the picture above. See how there is a lake between the building and Mark. Yes, we had to walk all the way around it to get there.

This white building is on an opposite side of the city from the other memorials. Don't worry, we said hello to president Barck for all y'all.

And finally, Arlington Cemetery--fortunately we didn't have to walk all the way here. We took the metro.

Noah really liked the cheep cheeps here (birds). We didn't make it up to any famous gravesites or tomb of unknown soldier since it was close to closing time and my feet and also due to my complaints :)

The second day it was a lot colder and windier so we stuck to the museums: american history, holocaust, and back to natural history (we had to see the animal and rock exhibits).

Despite my sore feet, I really really enjoyed our trip--especially walking everywhere. I loved not having to depend on a car all of the time. I just need to get some new shoes. (Don't worry mom, I've already scheduled my shopping trip).

Thanks sooooo much Misty, Jordan, and Asher--you guys are awesome! Please come visit us soon!
