trip to ER

Noah had his first trip to the ER while we were in Utah. I took him to my friends' wedding reception, Kegan and Amanda. Noah was getting pretty messy with the desserts that he snatched from the table so I took him outside. I had my back turned for one second and then I heard a loud thump and then crying. I looked around and couldn't see him and then I ran over to the window well*. He was lying on his back but I could tell that her had fallen on his face. He was bleeding a lot, but mostly from just one cut. The rest of his face was scratched up a bit. Amanda's mom (a nurse) and sister helped me get him cleaned up a little and then recommended I take him to get stitches. By the time we got to the ER, Noah was doing fine and was back to his usual happy, adventurous self. I chased him around the ER playing ball, hide and seek, and peekaboo for a couple hours. They finally got to us and gave him 3 stitches.

I get to take them out today so that he won't get a scar. Now I just have to make sure he doesn't split it open by taking any small spills or that he doesn't get it sunburned in the next year.

*A dug out area where a basement window is placed to get sunlight into the basement. It was about 3-5 feet deep and fortunately had barkdust at the bottom of it.
