New House!

Remember how we moved 3 weeks ago?!?! Here are a few pictures of our new house/apartment!

From the front:
(we only occupy the 1st floor)

This is a rocker that I got from my friend, Jes, before she moved. It didn't have any cushions though so I made my own. And that was way cheaper than buying them (less than $10)--plus I think they turned out so good! The cushions still look a little lumpy and lopsided here but they look much better now that we sit in the chair almost every evening.

The same day I bought the material for the cushions, I found this chair at a garage sale for $10. I was thinking, man I could have just used these cushions. Mark had a better idea--"why don't we just buy the chair so we can both sit outside at the same time?" This is one of my favorite parts about our new apartment!

(notice some batting on the side table--Noah likes to play with it; he calls it "kitty")

Here's our TV room:
I love not having the TV in the main room.

Here's Noah's bedroom. It's actually only a half bedroom because it doesn't have a closet. But it's plenty big for Noah and someday (PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN ANNOUNCEMENT), child #2.

My favorite part about Noah's room is that the door has glass window panes and a curtain on the outside of the door. (The door to Noah's bedroom is in the TV room). This means I can check in on him during naps and at night without having to open the door. This is especially helpful since we switched him to a toddler bed just after we moved.

Here's Noah's cute bed--my grandma made the Noah's Arc quilt--

then she sent me the leftover material so I could make a curtain:

Other things about our new place that I love:

- Computer and desk is in our bedroom and the door has a childlock--now noah doesn't have as much opportunity to break our computer and I'm don't use the computer half as much as I used to! Which is why it's taken me forever to finally add some new posts!

- Huge (relatively) walk-in closets

- Linen closets and broom closet (in our old place we only had 2 teeny closets in the entire house)

-sun room for my "bookshelf" and sewing desk

- nice comfy couches leftover from our friends who used to live here

- Huge wonderful backyard!!!!!!!

-garage parking

-separate dining room which contains a wonderful piano (ok, the piano is a piece of junk, but a piano no less!!!)

- my basement is not a scary dungeon and I can go downstairs to workout on my new (secondhand) eliptical!!! and I can do laundry. which I don't love, but if I have to do laundry, this is much better than where I used to have to do laundry!!!

Maybe I'll take more pictures of the rest of the place soon. We'll see. I'm lazy!

how exciting! I love your new place. You are getting very crafty with an etsy shop and whipping up curtains and cushons like nobody's business. Very impressive.

PS You know who said...

I am so glad you inherited your mom's talent for making do and your grandma's talent for whipping up things on the sewing machine.
Cute house - we wish were there!
