Merry Christmas! 2011

Penitentiary Glen, Cleveland Metropark

Merry Christmas from the Broadbent family! It's hard to believe that we have been in Cleveland for almost 4 years now and are wrapping things up here (most likely). We have loved living here and have really taken advantage of all the wonderful opportunities here--both indoor and outdoor.

Mark is in the midst of interview season and has chosen to specialize in Radiology. He will graduate with his MD in May. We will find out in March where his training will take us next. Just this week, his volleyball team won the championship of their interfaith volleyball league. He also keeps busy by participating in a monthly discussion group as well as coordinating pickup soccer and racquetball games.

Holly has been keeping herself busy with the kids, and is on track to accomplish her goal of reading 35 books this year. She teaches music for Noah's preschool class once a month and she continues to run a successful playgroup. She's honing her pottery skills, with her coup de grace being an owl cookie jar. She is expecting our 3rd baby, to be born in mid June.

Noah has begun the transition into childhood with the beginning of his preschool class. He loves his class and is making a lot of friends. He was also on a city soccer league this fall--he was especially glad to have his best buds, Joshua and Luke, on the team with him. He has handled his friends leaving Cleveland last summer well, and is even looking forward to our move this summer; he's hoping it will be to his favorite state, Kentucky. Noah is learning to enjoy his little sister. Sometimes.

Maren is becoming more of a personality each day. Between her sign language, animal noises, and baby talk she is exploding into her vocabulary. She loves to wear our shoes and try to do adult things. The only adult look she won't tolerate is putting her hair up. She loves books, and is always bringing us any book with dogs, ducks, or babies. She is always trying to keep up with Noah and she's usually pretty good at it!

We are thankful for our friends and family and we miss those who have moved away or that we have moved away from. We hope this Christmas "Card" finds you happy and well. We are especially grateful for our Savior, Jesus Christ, this holiday season and we see His hand in our lives everyday.

Merry Christmas and Happy Year!

Mark, Holly, Noah, Maren, plus one :)
