For Christmas, Noah asked for paints. I had my parents get a set of watercolors as part of their gift and figured Noah would treat it like all of his other art "pursuits." He usually is interested in scribbling on a piece of paper with a crayon for all of 2 seconds. I'm the kind of mom who pretty much throws away most of my kid's "artwork" because he doesn't put any thought into it (don't worry, I keep the stuff that he really works on). I was really surprised when he whipped out, not one, but several beautiful watercolor pieces in 3 days. I sent one off to my parents. We made homemade Valentine's out of 3 more (I cut each page into 6 pieces and had him pass them out to his school friends and teachers), and I have a stack that I'm planning to cut in pieces and make a collage out of. Don't worry, Mom and Dad Broadbent, we'll send one out to you guys too.

Anyway, I kept my favorite and we will be hanging it up tomorrow, hopefully. I mounted it on a frame that I made myself with my new jigsaw that I bought with my birthday/Christmas money. I spray-painted the frame black. I used Modge Podge to affix the painting to the frame and then I modge-podged over the painting itself. It looks really cool. This photo doesn't do it justice.

Thanks Rachel Meynders (and Chad) for giving me the idea to buy a jigsaw. I pretty sure it's my new favorite thing right now.
