2013 Broadbent Review

I wrote this Christmas letter of few days ago, and now I am finally posting it!  Hope you had a wonderful Christmas:

Merry Christmas Family and Friends!

If it seems like our family has moved around quite a bit in the past 7 years, it’s because it’s true!  We moved to our 4th Midwest city this summer—Avon, Indiana.  We will be here for at least 4 years, and decided it was time to buy our first home!

Mark is enjoying his first year of his radiology residency.  Although he wishes he had more time for hobbies.  His weekends tend to get pretty busy with the honey-do-around-the-house list in combination with the kids’ daddy-do list.

Holly is doing her best to keep up with our new home and finds time to pursue other fun projects—including becoming the philanthropy chair for our local doctor’s wives club.

Noah is loving school and has had no problem making new friends.  He’s becoming an avid “gamer.” He loves to play chess, checkers, any board or card game, and especially the Pokemon Trading Card Game.  He went to his first Pokemon League recently and won 3 out of 4 games.  He continues to excel at the piano and is enjoying his “ninja training” at gymnastics (aka gymninja).

Maren has a slew of girl friends here in Avon—a nice change for her.  She loves to do “mommy school” at home and has almost finished learning all the letters and their sounds.  Like Noah, she enjoys gymnastics but is looking forward to trying out ballet after watching the Nutcracker Ballet.  She’s quick to pursue any interest that Noah has and also loves being a big sister to Ellie.  They are quickly becoming best friends.

Elise is no longer a baby!  She does her best to keep up with Noah and Maren.  She shares a room with Maren now and it is working out better than we imagined.  She’s starting to talk more, although she prefers to sign words like “daddy” and “eat”.  You can tell when she is getting sleepy because she becomes incredibly silly.

We’ve been extremely blessed this year, and are grateful for our Savior and the grace He gives us. May you all enjoy the Spirit of Christmas this year.
