Wilsonville and Yosemite

The 2nd to last week of my internship, I decided to take a vacation--my dad's side of the family was having it's last formal family reunion and our family decided to go. First we (my mom, Noah, and I) flew to Portland to pick up my dad. This is Noah in the cute little chair that has been in our family ever since I can remember. He liked grandma and grandpa Rands' house--I hope we get to go back soon!

Then, we drove 14+ hours down to Yosemite. It was so fun to be with (almost) my whole family (and I was sad Mark and Coral couldn't be there). Noah had so much fun watching his cousins and they were all so sweet to him. Noah was SO good during all of our traveling, I think he's a champ!

Getting a picture of all the kids was quite entertaining. (R-L Rachel, Ian, Noah, Avery, and Madeleine. Mikaya didn't quite make this one)

We all went into this "camping" trip thinking we would be in cabins with electricity, warm showers nearby, and nice swimming pool, and a cafeteria where we would eat most of our meals. You know, fake camping. So when we got to Yosemite, we found out that all of the power was out due to the fires in the area. No Electricity. No warm showers. No swimming pool (rumor has it, some kid pooped in the pool and due to lack of power, they didn't have the ability to filter/clean out the pool adequately. Thanks kid). Also, most of us hadn't charged our cameras before we got there so the above was my last picture. Fortunately I still had a full battery on my camera and the cafeteria used a generator so we didn't starve to death. Thanks to my mom's, Amy's, and Rachel's excellent foresight, we brought plenty of food with us for lunches and snacks. Basically were "real camping" except our tent had wooden walls--thank goodness for that! (I do enjoy tent-camping but I wasn't up to the task this time without Mark and with Noah's wake-up-every-two-hours sleep schedule). Did I mention that we had so much fun despite the craziness? Well we did and I'm so glad we went! I will post more pictures when I get them from my mom. Maybe.
