No, not Noah! haha--"Its a shame people be throwing out a perfectly good white boy like that" (name that movie; hint: it's my favorite)
No, I mean that adorable little chair he's sitting on:

While it had a cool old-fashioned look to it, it also looked dirty and chipped and the caning (is that the correct term for the seat?) was coming apart. So, I spruced it up a little bit:

Aren't little things for little people oh so cute!? I found that vinyl for the seat at Joann's in the remnant section so it was way cheap!

Noah loves to sit in it. (Yes, I do dress my child like this. I just can't resist those orange pants.)
Oh and here is another ingenious invention of mine:

The garbage hider. It serves 2 purposes:
1) Keeps Noah from getting garbage out and putting non-garbage in
2) Makes this area look just a little bit nicer.
I found this and it's match on the side of the road. It was a nasty orangy blue color with lots of stains. You just gotta clean it up and put a new coat of paint on it and it looks pretty good. It's pretty crudely constructed. I got some boards (from a "bench" that I found in someone's trashpile) and attached them to the shutter so that it made a little "case" around the garbage
I also found 7 stacking organizing plastic baskets that I'm so excited about! They are out in the rain right now getting "clean" (aka touchable) before I do the actual cleaning and sanitizing process.

Awesome. My dad (also in Cleveland) likes to go searching for what he calls "tree lawn treasures" (tree lawn is what he calls the part of the grass between the sidewalk and the street - aka where all the trash goes). He likes to find bicycle parts and has made more than 1 bicycle solely out of things other people threw away
Just wait for spring cleaning, you will have a hay day! I can remember in PA going around and finding tons of cool stuff, but you usually have competition. PS. i still owe mark like $60. . . So, don't let me forget to deposit that in his account. . .
Holly! I love this! You are so great at seeing the good in what other people see as junk
P.S. I love love love your hair!
Curtis finds the junk aka treasures too, and I paint them. So far we have found/painted a bunk bed, a surf board, and a cute little table for the girl's room. Good job on redoing that cute little chair. Noah looks like he loves it!
