I think it's cool to ride a bike. But i really hate people on bikes who can't pick one set of rules and follow them. If you are in the road, you are a car. if you are in the crosswalk, then you are a pedestrian. you can't be both. is it really worth the risk of your LIFE to get somewhere 5 minutes faster?? Rules make you predictable--remember you are not the only one trying to get somewhere...

i normally wouldn't comment on your blog since it's our husbands that are friends and not us but I had such an intense hatred for bicylists in Provo who didn't follow rules that I just had to comment. I nearly killed several of them on different occasions when I first started driving our truck and reading your post brought back very clear memories of that.
Are you kidding?? That's the best part about biking! You get to pick whichever rule is most convenient. My philosophy is "I am saving the planet by riding my bike, I am superior, and that's why I get to be an awesome car/pedestrian hybrid." I call it carestrian. Or pedestricar. In either case, I also dislike bikers when I'm driving. They are all annoying(except Nate and me). But I'm a Provo biker more than a Provo driver, and I still feel cool when I ride my bike. :-)
Hahaha, well Cami, it might be ok in Provo--although I think that's one of the scariest places to be a ped/bicyclist--where the city is set up like a grid. Here in Cleveland, the roads and intersections are so bad and never make sense. throwing bicyclists in the mix is a very BAD combination. You are possibly familiar with the road situation though since you are from the east coast...
