Have you ever gotten a sound stuck in your head? Not a song, but a sound. Last night I read something in a book and then I could hear a shovel scraping against a rock for the rest of the evening--I was in a constant cringe position. weird huh.

Maren just got her first tooth! It looks like she has 3 more coming in all at once. Fortunately, teething hasn't bothered her so it was fairly unexpected.

Noah's preschool teacher told me that she was asking the kids if they would like to be a zookeeper when they grew up. Noah said that he wanted to be a poacher. haha

Oh, and big news. I finally made a good batch of cookies (I hate making cookies because they never turn out--they are so hard!). In fact, they are probably some of the best cookies I've ever had.

Oatmeal Cherry Chocolate Chip

I basically followed the above recipe to the tee but used regular oats instead of quick-cooking and chocolate chips instead of walnuts (although both might be even better). Then, here's the key: I baked them for only 10 minutes and then took them out. They will still look doughy but they continue to bake and set up on the pan. Amazing! I'm always a wuss about taking things out of the oven if they don't look done.
