It is an enormous owl cookie jar.

At this point, I'll be lucky if it dries in time for me to finish it enough to fire it. I won't have a chance to glaze it until the next session (in the fall). I'm a little sad about that--it's turning out so great and I can't wait to use it. Now if only I can magically find some counter space in our house...
Remember when Noah took a pottery class? I had him enter the snow man that he made into the ceramic art show. I also entered a pretty vase that I made--one of my favorite pieces so far. I will post a picture when I get it back...

Also, here is a wall sconce that I made at the end of my first session. I finally bought some flowers at Joanns so I could hang it on the wall. It's covering an ugly phone outlet (who even has a land-line nowadays anyway??). I'm no decorator, and maybe you're cringing at my use of fake flowers and lack of floral arranging skills, but hey, I MADE that wall sconce and I'm pretty darn proud!

This is what it looked like before I glazed it:

That is an AWESOME owl cookie jar!!! Good Job!!!
I love the way you try new things - cooking, projects and fun activities with Mark and Kids. As your grandpa used to say, "Holly is fearless."
Wow! It even looks like an owl! Cool. I think your sconce looks fabulous! I just stuck 1 flower in the one Mark made ... Lack of decorating ability at its worst.
