1. not having to pay for the haircut I got the other day (I had a coupon)--I don't really like it, it's too short. I even had to reschedule our family pictures so that it would grow out a little bit...
2. Noah. He's been so amazingly helpful and good lately. I was getting really frustrated with him for awhile and I think a big part of it was all the changes that were going on in our life. plus we had family visit for 4 weeks total over the last 2 months and he really doesn't do well with more than just me telling him what to do. I found that I was losing my temper with him all of the time and my mom said something to me about it--that he's so happy and enthusiastic about life and that I just can't break his spirit by getting mad at him all the time. This has really helped me to change my attitude (along with lots of prayer!). The last couple weeks have been awesome. I work with him on his reading and piano lessons everyday and we aren't fighting about it anymore. I'm learning how to persuade him to focus and work hard without getting mad and he is just making so much progress.

5. Mark's grandpa being a mason--we just received a scholarship from the Masons for the third year in a row!

I've liked hearing about your gratitude. I'm glad you like that book. It's been great for my girls. After about lesson 75 you don't really need it anymore so you're almost there! We stopped at lesson 38 for Anya because she got sick of it.
I meant to say that I got sick of it, not her. :) Because her being sick of something wouldn't stop me from still making her do it! I love Noah's re-creations of video games, that's so cool.
