outside projects

Remember all that wood I got from the Amish guys for my garden? Well, it was treated, so I couldn't use it for the garden. I decided we should make benches. Fortunately, I have a friend who owns a circular saw so we could cut the wood.

The wood needed for one bench:

I looked at lots of pictures of benches online (there's a complete blog devoted to benches!) and made a few different designs. Here's the winner. It's nice and sturdy. We made 2.

The rest of my wood pile. What should I make with it???

Here's my garden again. This time with chicken wire cage and nylon trellis for my vine plants. If you look hard enough, you can see some the sprouting plants :)

Here are my tomatoes--they will go in the garden after there is no threat of frost. I'm not quite sure when that is. soon i hope!

Loved all the pictures and the stories. Lilacs are beautiful and the garden looks great. Amy is working on hers, hope she shares her bounty with Mom.
